The Roopantaran (meaning “Transformation”) initiative of Sir Ratan Tata Trust (SRTT) was set up with a focus of enabling the development of such internally sound non-profit institutions with strong fundamentals to realize their potential for social change. The initiative supports organizations to reflect, probe, and address institutional challenges on their own, for creation of sustainable institutions.

The Human and Institutional Development Forum (HIDF), based in Bangalore provides leadership and Institution Building Resources to bring professional knowledge, skills and resources to actualize the objective of the Roopantaran initiative it. In particular, HIDF brings together varied expertise and resource persons to  provide diagnosis, planning and accompaniment support for organisational change, financial and human resource systems strengthening, planning and conducting contextual research and building knowledge on HID. The basic premise of the HIDF is to build and install competencies to ‘hold’ HID processes in organisations.
